Gold Coast 2009 : Day 5 - 17 June 2009

Day 5 started a little bit late, nothing to rush coz it's in town, about 10min away from our stay. So santai2 dulu, kanak2 nampak agak penat sedikit but nothing to worry coz our themepark of the day is...

No scary must-try-rides, no roller-coasters to drain our energy

Tips : If you reach GC early in the morning (most AA flights landed around 5am) and wanted to hit themeparks straightaway, then we would recommend to start with SW as it is mostly viewing and few rides + kid version in Sesame St area which we gave a pass.

1st thing we did the moment we past through the entrance was : Diskas. Nak pegi mana dulu ? Coz it got a lot of scheduled shows here and there and it's quite huge. We didnt want to miss the main shows like dolphin and the water ski. Sgtlah penting to refer to the timetable and do the planning, we skipped a few like shark feeding coz bertindih dgn other shows and we had so little time to run there. Tu kira simpan untuk next trip la tu...hahaha..(ntah baper kurun lagi tu..)

Once done we decided to catch the cable car to the last station and started the journey from there. Nice weather, nice view from top. We made the right decision coz from top you could gauge the actual distance and how the whole place looks like. Haruslah tunjuk gambar abg kabel car lagi haha SIL kata mamat tu perasan kot haha

Dah penat la nak story mory detail..so here goes the most relaxed-ambience among all themeparks

Sesame Street Show...fun fun..cuma Big Bird keluar kejap bebeno...

Runnnnnnnn.....dolphin show next... what to say other than... I wish I can ride the fish. Waaa-Oooo-ClapClap-kinda-show. Dontcha wish you can ride a fish...dontcha...terus pussycatdolls

Ni kat depan souvenir shop yang dekat dgn dolphin-show place, ada a few more in the middle and more at the exit. Kedai banyak cuma duit la tak berapa nak byk ..$$ ka-chingg !!

The waterski show at 1pm, and it's at the opposite side of the park. Tmpt dolphin blkg skali, waterski kat entrance. Nak tak nak jalan je la else miss another great show. Perghh panas mentari kat sana memang pedih weh..ni winter..tobat aku tak pi kalau summer. Chop tempat siap2 kat depan...lucky we didnt choose or sit close to the center else kuyup kena air. Sambil layan fish & chips for lunch. btw, kereta itu adalah boat..cool

I've read it on the net that 2009 was their final year performing for SW, after 20 years. A new american company was given the contract and it was rumoured that the replacement show will feature pirate stuffs. Ahha...another must-go factor.

Dah selesai acara menjemur diri, pelan-pelan jalan ke belakang balik, singgah solat. Surau di bawah stesen monorail itu ye tuan-puan. Kami tidak menaiki monorel. sekian.

Menunggu 3D show yang kami missed earlier, jenguk2 tgk penguin yg tak mcm penguin...ambik gambar sana sini

It was a simple setup of 3D show but very meaningful coz it talks about sea conservation, save the earth kinda message. A beautiful screening I would say.

Got ourselves awed by the sea creatures in underwater tank, sharks, rays and so many fish which I do not know apakah tajuknya...

Mencari2 polar bear dari jauh..jenuh intai mana la dia...kuharapkan keluar seekor bear yg putih gebu dan gumuks. Yg ada cuma seekor bear malas yang asik baring, wane merah sbb guling2 kat tanah...ouch that changed my love for polar bear, I should have gone to Artic to renew my love..or just watch animal planet on the cable :)

Then we dashed to catch this show...sea lionnya adalah sangat berkilat2 & segar bugar..sgt berbeza dgn di zoo negara yg kulitnya ala2, dush!! sila sedar diri. The show adalah bodoh2 alang punya show yg hillarious untuk anak2...they used at least 2 sealions for the show...

Warm down session as we decided to call it a day. No rides tho they have it at the back...maybe we're still contented with what we had in MW. Sesame Street shop is an-evil-demonishly-unavoidable-shop, cute stuffs everywhere.

We exited the park as planned i.e. a bit earlier coz we wanted to catch pasar malam along the beach

Pasar malam ini tidak menjual apam balik atau jagung rebus. Tidaklah grand or panjang mana pun. It's along the beachfront on the pedestrian walk. We found a parking abit far at the end. So we made our way to the find a dining place while having the 1st glimpse of what's on sale and kena pow ngan Hanis & Adan on the way back. Grrr crocodile hunterrrrrrrr

Apa2hal dinner dulu...cuaca sgt chilly & windy mlm tu. We had dinner inside a middle-east restaurant. The name ? My memory escaped me, sowi but it is along the SP Boulevard. Yummy food...very very fulfilling. Each main course was about AUD15, with a basket of naan FOC. Hannah tertido but kept on waking up coz it's freezing & she's not wearing her socks. Tebiat, masuk keter bukak socks..

While waiting for our food, I ran out to find a pair for her, almost terbeli an Uggs in pink tapi masih waras memikirkan bilakah masanya nak pakai kat Mesia yg fanas ni ? hehe ended-up bought a beach towel, bungkus dia rapat2 baru la lena sket.

Sejuk tak sejuk, kami tetap merayap dari ke Cavill Ave, as usual berbekalkan hot choc masing2 hehe

Lepak situ lama sket & had a last shot at souvenir shop coz that was our last night in Surfers Paradise, kat Brisbane mahal katanya (it's true)...wuhuuu. Other than the M'sian gift shop that I recommended, there's another yg worth to buy, along the Cavill Ave, same row as Coach & Oakley boutique, klu jalan towards the beach, it's on your left. Klu dlm gambar bwh ni on ur right lah.

Them at the centre of Cavill Avenue, they said it's packed during summer coz there's clubhouses and bars surrounding the area.

Adan tak keruan sbb excited sgt. Tulah towel yg menggantikan socks Hannah. Man kata itu adalah tektik aku nak beli souvenir extra...ooo statement tak sayang anak ye. Penat I lari punya jauh mau bili itu towel, sib baik tokei org Perak manyak baik hati woo kasih mulah2 saja...

Pastu ? Balik ler...perut dah kenyang sangat kot, so sumer ngantuk giler..

Malam tu baru aku berjaya meng'appreciate' the night view yg sangat cantik from my apartment's balcony, sejuk siot dok situ...I love this town...next trip will conquer the QDeck (Dlm gambo kecik sgt, celah2 building tu...) Kira ala2 KL Tower la ni..

Souvenirs from the sea :) Along had lost her pink bottle at school :( I would recommend any of you to buy the soft toy sold in pack of 3 (polar bear, whale & tiger whale) at AUD10. Dlm gambar dia dok bawah landyard tu. Coz it's the cheapest toy with Seawold stamp on it. Else got to fork out AUD15 for that innocent dolphin, dolphin itu kelihatan se'innocent' org yg mengambilnya dari rak lalu berkata 'Hannah sayang dolphin', sambil buat muka ala2 kucing dlm Shrek & pegang sekuat hati. Since it's her 1st time requesting sumthing for herself & seems 'genuine', we paid...Same as other places, expensive especially for a plain toys, unless u dont mind buying one without the logo. I do :p

Things that we rembat-ed from the M'sian gift shop, worth every dollar. I still have some of it coz I haven't given it to all my close friends :p (Ezzah, hok mung pong ada tapi dok wi pah sudoh...)
