Very Delayed Wedding Entry Part 1

Ntah2 pengantinnya dah berisi pon. hehe It’s almost 2 months since we had the wedding for my BIL. I procrastinated and lost the zest to blog about it. Looking at the amount of pix taken during the period, it scares the sh%t out of me and my mind decided to skip that one moment. Until now…

This is one of the biggest event in our family, kena la blog kan…hehe I’ll do it in few parts

30 May 2008 – Majlis Bertunang dan Akad Nikah (Kuantan)
31 May 2008 – Kenduri di Kuantan (Sebelah Perantin Pompuan)
8 Jun 2008 – Kenduri di Gombak (Sebelah Perantin Lelaki)

Aku masih tonggang langgang…hahaha hantaran x siap lagi (as confessed to Ezzah). Memang gubra tapi as usual, I can produce better results when working on 11th hour. Bunga2 tu is the bunga dulang, petang tu la baru nak assemble….

Konvoi ke Kuantan, we rented a place called Bailey’s Court, a 4-storeys apartment building. Mula2 sampai cam x best jek tengok surrounding, but later when we entered the room…Quite impressed with the place, the rooms are much better than Ser1 Malaysia. We booked 2 units of the 3-rooms apartment with cooking facilities (but no pots & pans). So if you feel like cooking, just hop to the downstairs’ grocer. They have everything u need for you temp kitchen. The ‘elders’ shared 1 apartment while us the young guns occupied the upper level unit.

According to plan, we’ll start off with majlis bertunang and proceed with akad. All the hantarans will be exchanged that very same night, so that we can melenggang kangkung during the kenduri, next day. Rush gila sbb majlis should start around 8.15pm, ada yang solat dulu and me nak siapkan the kids, make sure hantaran ready and all. The fact that the apartment is at the other sides of pekan Kontan made it more challenging.

We reached the bride’s place slightly late only to find out that we had all the hantarans…but no dulang !!! kehkehkeh…dulang dalam keter perantin yg tinggal kat apartment. Perantin naik Merc, sudah lopa sama itu dulang. Totally slipped my mind especially when people were like lekaih! lekaih! without considering that I have 3 kids in tow, hantaran to count and other things that others don’t give a damn. So I went to my BIL’s most important event au naturel, no makeup in sight. Sib baik bakal mak mentuanya cekap gitu..dpt la few extra dulangs enuff for majlis bertunang. We started off with majlis bertunang, which luckily do not require the groom. Hubby blazed off (with soon-to-be-hitched-brother, no less) to pick up the left-behind-dulangs. Poor dulangs…

Rombongan meminang

Adik iparku sudah besar...dub dab dub dab

Awek sarung cincin kat balak dia..

Dengan besprennya

Fuh...All the sweating and dubdab-ing (for the day) ended with smiles and happiness.

What a day.
