Trip Thru The Trunk 'T'Road

Hehehe nak sangat rhyme ngan huruf 'T'. Seblom aku lopa meh aku aku blog citer ni dulu walaupun yg lain2 melambak lagiks...

Masa geng2 kurik kendi UUM bernostalgia kat Sint0k nun, aku ngan anak2 aku berhoya2 di Redang 16 -18 Aug 2008. Right after that baru balik umah mak aku sbb on 20th ada kenduri. Teruk kan...gi holiday dulu pastu baru balik umah mak hehe. This entry is not about the hoya2 nor the kenduri but specifically about our 1st time zooming thru Gua Musang route back to KL.

Since my hometown is actually closer to KB than KT, people asked why we always chose Kuantan-Bkt.Besi-K.Berang-Setiu route instead of Gua Musang. 1st and foremost because my mom doesn't like it, be it by car or bus, all her kids are sort of 'banned' from using the road due to the infamous road fatalities happened there. 2ndly, mmm ntahla...x t'bukak hati gamaknya hahaha. So there we go..

Lepas b'hempas pulas, sweating all over, we left the kenduri around 4pm and berbekalkan peta sempoi abah, we made it. The road leading to Gua Musang is good especially right after Machang. But right after that,it's deja-vu, the feeling was like when we roughed thru the Maran-Temerloh route before the birth of LPT. We safely parked our car in the porch around 12.30midnight. Including almost 2-hrs break for solat 3-in-1+ soru.

So the verdict : definitely NOT FOR US though it saves us about 50km and rm19++ (toll LPT).
Why ?
  • It's not healthy for a driver to be flashed with that red AWAS signboard every 100-200m (it's either AWAS kawasan kemalangan or AWAS selekoh merbahaya). Lagilah x healthy kepada co-pilot yg ala2 kebas kaki tekan imaginary-brake.

  • At one point aku t'bayang orang kuning DIGI sbb sepanjang jalan asik arrow kuning itam tuh, klu x kiri, kanan, klu x besar kecik.

  • Not for a weak stomach like my son who just had maggi soup and full glass of teh tarik, carik nahas

  • It's even more stressful to fight with sooooooooo many lori balaks and 24-wheelers, imagine having to snail behind trailers going uphill bcoz there are no way to overtake due to the streaming traffic from the other side. . Ada 1 time we have to overtake like 6 lori balaks, 1 or 2 at a time. Fehhh...Mau kontot jari laki aku dok bagi signal, 5 to10 minutes apart

  • It's hard to find a place to do mandi-solat-makan in one shot the R&R way. It's crucial, because baby will poop when they feel like pooping and mommy will definitely need her shower to change the stinky baju kurung. Mcm kena ganja aku dok memangku Hannah the smelly poopie baby till we can find a suitable place to stop.

  • Inconsiderate drivers who overtook heavy vehicles and expected the incoming traffic to make way for them. We had lots of headlight's flashing moments - a sign for us to give way...$%#%^%
All that made a very stressful trip back home (as if traveling with 3 kids is not stressful enuff!!) So this route is off our radar for now until God knows.
But there's 1 time, Babah was touched when Adan said 'baik kita naik bas, babah pun tak penat...'

So aku salute la sesape yg boleh survive and frequent the route. I would rather pay the toll and brave extra KMs as long as we can sail smoothly and the kids can have their every few hours break that we always practice when we travel.

Update : Hubby's friend said that we hit the road at the wrong time. But I think that won't change our decision hehe

masa mula2 kawin dulu, mmg seriau kelik kelate ikut gua musang. after 6 years with 3 young children, rasa mcm dah lali dan muak. dulu2 pun ada gak imaginary break tapi skang ni mcm tak perasan je haha.

lately we all lalu ikut jln lojing cameron tu pastu masuk hiway utara selatan. beza 50km n toll tapi less stressful if nk compare dgn gua musang kuala lipis tu hah.
